The Road Starts With the Right License
CDL licenses open different doors. Know what each one means before you train.
Licenses
Class A CDL
The license for tractor-trailers, big rigs, and combination vehicles over 26,001 lbs GVWR. The most in-demand commercial license in the country — flatbeds, dry vans, reefers, tankers, and more.
Class B CDL
The license for heavy straight trucks — box trucks, dump trucks, delivery vehicles, and transit buses. Faster to earn, strong local job market.
Endorsements — add to a CDL you hold or are earning
HazMat Endorsement
16 hours. Authorizes transport of hazardous materials — required for fuel hauling and chemical loads. Significant wage premium. Must be 21+ and pass a TSA background check.
Passenger Endorsement
14 hours. Authorizes carrying passengers in commercial vehicles — motor coaches, shuttles, and transit. The shorter option when a school bus is not part of your plan.
School Bus & Passenger
30 hours. Earns both endorsements together, which is what driving a school bus requires. School-calendar hours and steady local demand. Requires a WA State and FBI background check.

The 160-hour Standard CDL program is our most popular — and for good reason. Four weeks, employer-ready, proven results, strong return on investment. Most of our students start here to fast track into their new careers.
Prefer to build? You can earn your Standard CDL first, then add the Intermediate and Advanced courses on your schedule. Same skills. Same certification. Just spread out.
Either way, you train with professional truck drivers, on real equipment, at a school licensed by the Washington Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board (WTB). The choice is yours.

Funding Your CDL Training
There's more than one way to pay for CDL training. Check out our funding page for some options to explore.
Save 10% on tuition & course materials when you pay in full
Pay your balance in full at least 10 days before class starts, by cash, check or ACH, and take 10% off published tuition and course materials — your sales tax drops with it.
Available to self-pay and employer-paid students. Not available where tuition is funded by WIOA, a private loan, or another third-party benefit or grant program.
Only one Taylor Made discount applies per enrollment — the payment-in-full discount cannot be combined with a promotional coupon. Applies to programs whose combined tuition and materials reach $3,900.

WorkSource WA connects eligible job seekers with funds that may cover CDL training costs. Federal WIOA funding may also be available through WorkSource for eligible adults and dislocated workers.
Employer-Sponsored Training
Many trucking and logistics companies sponsor CDL training for drivers they plan to hire. If you have a job offer or employer commitment, ask about sponsoring your training.
Self-Pay & Payment Plans
You can pay your own way, and we offer a payment plan with its own terms. Ask us and we'll walk you through it.
WA L&I — Vocational Retraining
Washington State L&I offers vocational retraining for workers injured on the job. If you're on an L&I claim and need to change careers, CDL training may be covered. Contact your L&I vocational counselor.
